Recent Examples of Expert Witness, Forensic and Legal Services:

Boiler Failure (Defense) - IMR's expert report attributed failure to stress corrosion cracking. The plaintiff insurance company's expert incorrectly concluded that thermal fatigue was the root cause of failure. After deposition, the plaintiff released their expert and the case was dismissed without prejudice.

Household Appliance (Defense) - IMR developed and completed a comprehensive test program and failure analysis to demonstrate that the plaintiff's testimony was inconsistent with the technical facts.

Food Contamination (Plaintiff) - Metal shards contaminated ~$500,000 of food. The would-be plaintiff believed that a supplier of one of the ingredients was responsible. IMR's field investigation and laboratory testing identified the source within the customer's process and thereby saved unnecessary litigation expenses.

Patent Infringement (Plaintiff) - The plaintiff claimed that a manufacturer of a flight data recorder had violated patent rights through the use of a specific chemical as a fire retardant and heat dissipater. IMR used a wide variety of analytical tools and tests to positively identify the presence of this chemical in the manufacturer's product, thereby supporting the plaintiff's claim.
